FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The only skill where experience is necessary (but not essential) is dancing. We are a musical theatre school which means we will teach each student the skills they need for musicals - singing, dancing and acting - using the annual production as the anchor and final performance. So no experience is required - regardless of age.
Definitely. Every student will get a part in the musical and will get to perform on stage in the final full scale shows. The part itself must be auditioned for. Obviously, not every student can be a lead. Some may be in a chorus for example - but that's what makes musicals. It is very important the student understands that this is the nature of musical theatre and that it is a team effort - no musical works as a solo or with just a few stars.
No. Every student will have a role to play in the musical and class time is also dedicated to rehearsals - so without a part - they will be very bored!
Students need to be dropped off and collected at completion. This will make sure the final performance is the most delightful surprise!
Your monthly fee covers absolutely everything for the student including costumes, the classes, rehearsals, professional photos of rehearsals in costume, extra rehearsals and cast shirt. The only thing you will have to pay in addition is for tickets to the final show (parents, families and friends). And performers need to supply their own shoes - however often, these are shoes students have already.
There will be professional photography of the musical during one of our staged rehearsals. These digital photos will be shared with parents at no additional cost.
Due to licensing agreements, The School of Rock - The Musical does not allow any video or photography of the staged performance, professional or otherwise.
The images from the rehearsal will be of the students on stage, in costume and in full swing - so they will be just as good as if taken during the show itself.
We take students aged 7 - 25. However, they are split into three different classes for kids, teens and young adults. They come together for full rehearsals closer to show time.
